This place is an undiscovered gem in an undiscovered area. Slow food, good company, great wines. If you visit the DOCG area Taurasi, ENE of Naples and NE of Avellino about half an hour, you MUST find Louisa at Da Pino for local information, for the absolutely best food around, and for the connections to the local wineries. Louise and her husband Pino are moving their restaurant to a new location this fall. I have seen the place and it already has great atmosphere and I'm sure due to the open and warm character of the entire family and their skill at preparing simple, wonderful food from the local fresh ingredients, it will be a success. We travel a fair bit and are always looking for the best in local food and wine. We found both in Taurasi. (In 2015, a 2010 Taurasi was one of the three best wines in Italy). Similar in a lot of ways to Barolos in character and longevity. Go and enjoy. We did and we will definitely be back. We wish Pino, Louise and Ida all the best in their new location!
