La Cucinaccia ai Palazzi Rufini Capocavallo

Based on a personal recommendation & rave reviews on trip advisor we booked and drove 60km to Palazzo Rufini, not easy to find in the dark as no sign displayed outside. I had given several days prior warning that there was a vegetarian in the group of 4 - despite this a very limited vegetarian menu offered. All four starters were very poor, 3 main meals very poor , the 4th -vegetarian option of Melazane Parmigiana was just acceptable but portion size was tiny. We were the only diners in the restaurant until 5 minutes before leaving. Loud American music played but the setting was lovely.We left without puddings or coffee as so disappointed at the standard of cooking. The proprietor /chef was aware we were very unhappy with the quality of the cooking & portion size, his suggestion was we could have asked for more! (however the home made bread was excellent) A very disappointing meal & unusally poor food for Umbria, perhaps we were very unlucky but struggling to understand the rave reviews this place gets.
